Did you know that there are seven cars protecting the heads of state of the G20 Summit which they brought themselves when attending this event.

The G20 Summit event held on 15–16 November 2022 in Bali, Indonesia attracted a lot of attention from citizens around the world. A total of 19 countries and 1 European Union institution are members of this forum.

This agenda is not just an event for a gathering of heads of state, but an activity that discusses the global economy.

This year, Indonesia has the opportunity to host this grand event. Even though the government has provided transportation in the form of electric cars, several countries below choose to bring their own cars.

There are seven countries that chose to bring their own bulletproof cars to the G20 Summit agenda. Meanwhile, others choose to use electric cars that the government has prepared.

So, what is its appearance and advantages? The following are seven protective cars for heads of state at the G20 Summit in Bali.


1. Hongqi N710 (China)


The protective car for the heads of state at the G20 Summit came from China. This car was assigned to pick up Chinese President Xi Jinping at the airport.

Hongqi is the oldest passenger car brand in this Bamboo Curtain country. N701 is a car code used specifically for the presidency.

On this occasion, two Hongqi N701 units were seen bringing representatives from China.

2. The Beast (United States)


United States President Joe Biden also decided to bring his own car to the G20 Summit in Bali. The name of the presidential car is The Beast.

This jumbo-sized limousine has 5-inch thick glass, oxygen supply, satellite telephone, bomb-proof plates and nuclear codes. This makes this car weighs 9 tons.

Not wanting to be outdone by China, Biden also brought two cars from his country.

3. Mercedes-Maybach S600 Guard (Turki)



Another protective car for the heads of state at the G20 Summit is the Mercedes-Maybach S600 Guard. This car was specifically intended to pick up Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. 

The Mercedes-Maybach S600 Guard is indeed a popular protective car for world leaders.

4. Mercedes-Benz G-Guard (France)


French President Emmanuel Macron also used the car he brought, namely the Mercedes-Benz G-Guard. This SUV is equipped with bulletproof equipment to protect it while in Bali.

This car has a 500 cc V8 engine, VR7 class protection, and undoubted off-road capabilities.

5. Toyota Land Cruiser GXR (Canada and UK)


The Toyota Land Cruiser GXR is a bulletproof car assigned to pick up Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

This car is equipped with bulletproof glass, body and fuel tanks. The fuel capacity itself is around 5700 cc.

6. Genesis Electrified G80 (Cambodia, Italy, South Africa and Brazil)


The protective car for the head of state at the Bali G20 Summit from the Genesis Electrified G8. It has been seen that a number of high-ranking state officials use this. 

State officials who use this car are Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, and Brazilian Foreign Minister Carlos Alberto Franco Fran├ža.

7. Audi A8 L Security (United Arab Emirates)


The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, also uses his own car when in Indonesia. 

The Audi A8 L Security is capable of withstanding grenade attacks, aiming shots and automatic weapons.
